Professionals meeting in an office

Welcoming Brogan & Co to Wilson Porter: What clients need to know

We're excited to share that Brogan & Co has officially joined us at Wilson Porter & Associates, effective 1 July 2025. This marks a new chapter for both teams — one built on shared values, strong working relationships and a mutual commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality service.

We have been sharing office space with the Brogan & Co. team since 2019. That closeness eventually developed into tight cooperation, demonstrating how similar our approaches to professional standards and customer service are. Welcoming them into our practice is a natural step forward, and we're thrilled to have them officially on board.

Why the merger made sense

When Brogan & Co. moved into our offices in 2019, it gave us an opportunity to explore working together in a meaningful way. What started as a logistical decision quickly revealed how well our teams aligned — both in terms of service standards and client-first values.

That proximity laid the foundation for a deeper working relationship over the years. Now, as Leo Brogan prepares for retirement, the timing of this transition offers a natural point of progression. It ensures continuity for clients while also strengthening our combined capabilities.

Both firms have long prioritised consistent relationships, proactive advice and a personalised approach to client service. These shared principles made the integration not just logical, but well-timed. With years of experience working side by side, the transition was shaped around what already worked — ensuring minimal disruption and a stronger, unified team moving forward.

What clients can expect

All Brogan & Co. staff are transitioning to Wilson Porter — except for Leo Brogan and his personal assistant. The core team remains in place, including three chartered accountants who are now formally joining our roster. With their arrival, we're proud to now have five chartered accountants and a CPA supporting our clients.

Importantly, these accountants will continue to work with their existing clients. You'll keep dealing with the same people you know and trust — backed by a wider support network.

Leo's ongoing role

Although Leo is not joining Wilson Porter in an official capacity, he is still available to support a small group of long-term clients. He will provide advice independently on a consulting basis. For those who have worked with him for many years, this continuity offers reassurance that his experience and institutional knowledge remain accessible.

A stronger, broader firm

Bringing the Brogan & Co team into our practice has already delivered benefits — for our internal team and for our clients. We now gain three highly experienced chartered accountants, which significantly enhances our team's technical depth and internal capacity. For our clients, this means quicker turnaround, more specialist insights and increased coverage across a range of service areas.

This transition also expands our client base, both in volume and diversity. While the types of entities remain similar, the industries we can represent have broadened. Clients now span sectors such as travel and advertising, including cross-border work (e.g., New Zealand-based firms). This broader perspective benefits all of our clients through shared insights and cross-industry expertise.

Business as usual — With more behind the scenes

This next phase has been designed to be as smooth and client-friendly as possible. For most, it's business as usual — same advisors, same service model and the same focus on relationships. But now there's more support behind the scenes: more technical skill and a deeper bench of professionals ready to assist.

We're confident this step strengthens the work we do and the relationships we value. Whether you've been with Brogan & Co. or Wilson Porter for years, we're all moving forward together — as one team.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions. We're here to support you every step of the way.
